The question everyone is asking about Lululemon pants is: why does my bum look so good in these pant? The answer is that it is all in the stitching. It is hard to believe that the stitching of the pants is responsible for the benefit you see in the “bottom line”, but it is the truth.

Lululemon pants are stitched differently then any other yoga pants on the market. First of all, Lululemon pants have a fairly large waist band which is usually, but not restricted to, a different color then the color of the pants. This band drops down around an inch or so from the waist and as a result breaks the bum into two sections in terms of normal size and distance from the waist. This creates a visual distinction for the eye, and when looking at the pants the eye is tricked into believing that bottom of the waist band is actually the start of the buttock, making it appear smaller and tighter.  Another factor is that the cut of the pants is partially responsible for enhancing the woman’s bum. This is because the waist band is slightly tighter then the section below the waist band, making the waist appear somewhat smaller then normal.

Just about anyone can look good in Lululemon pants because of the stitching and the cut. Some may argue that girls that wear Lululemon pants regularly workout, having already developed a nice bum or only girls who already have nice looking behinds wear them. But this is not true, as lots of non-regularly-active women are wearing these pants to clubs, bars, cafes and malls. The reason they are doing this is because of the optical illusionary benefits to their butts.

Tons of stores carry no name brand equivalent of Lululemon, claiming that they are made from similar material and quality. But this is not the case, as the no name brand equivalents do not have the same stitching and cut as Lululemons. Furthermore, Lululemons have what is known as “four-way-stretch”, which means that they stretch both vertically and horizontally.  Conversely, the no name brands typically only have two-way-stretch, which means they stretch either vertically or horizontally, but not both. While you may be able to save some cash by buying the no name brands, however, spending the extra cash on the real deal is well worth it.

Further credit to these tight-fitting pants can be given to the Luon fabric that they are made from. Luon is Lululemon’s proprietary synthetic fabric that is a combination of nylon and Lycra, which feels much like cotton. Because this fabric is proprietary no other company is able to duplicate it exactly. This combination of stitching, cut, and Luon material allowed Lululemon to make a seriously awesome pair of pants that are great for workout. But they are also great to wear anywhere due to the fact they truly do make women’s bums look really nice. For those of you who already own a pair of Lululemons, now you know why they make you looks so good. For those of you who don’t own a pair, I recommend you go try a pair on, you will see the difference. Anyone else who wants to buy Lululemon clothing, I recommend that you buy Lululemon pants first.
